RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...

Baby Tessa, Baby Barney, Baby Betty and Baby Joey
These four kittens and two more that were never named, came from a litter of 6 beautiful kittens who were orphaned when their mommy cat was hit by a car near Union Deposit Road. All 6 of these kittens died within 5 weeks of intake at Castaway Critters of FIP. We are very saddened by their death, they were sweet and lovely kittens, but we know they were comfortable and well loved. We will miss them. They all died in Sept 2010. Baby Betty is in the photo. Go with peace dear kittens.

Bayley
As I write this, tears are streaming done my cheeks. At 4:54 this morning (June 4, 2006), my little Bayley took his last breath as I rocked him in my arms. This is so hard...he turned 9 weeks old today. He seemed completely fine days ago...the Vet said it was a possibility that he had FIP when he went in Friday night with a 105.6 temp. He is in heaven now where he is whole. The tears are still coming, but I know that I was able to give him a happy life for the time he was with me. Please say a prayer for him...I will miss him so... You see, Bayley was one of my first litter of kittens that I fostered. He and his 2 siblings (Ashton and Raven), along with their mother, were living in a dirt basement. They were rescued and put into a foster home. Since, both siblings and their mother have been adopted. Bayley will always be in my heart. He died in my arms....which gives me a "forever" attachment to this dear baby.

Bubble
Bubble and his 3 siblings came to us as abandoned stray kittens that had been dropped off at AHDC and at that time were only a few days old. Although Bubble's life was too short - only 6 months, he had a good life and was dearly loved every day of his life by his foster caregiver Georgia. His loud purr and very affectionate personality were very endearing to everyone he met and he added joy and happiness to our lives. He will always have a special place in our hearts and we will miss him.
