Theodore Terrific - Great with cats & people! 3/15-Theodore is an absolute gem :) We "introduced" Theodore & Pumpkin on Monday afternoon with Theodore in the carrier. Pumpkin went up to the carrier and hissed and growled but then walked away and stayed in the room with us. So after a little bit we let Theodore out just to see. Pumpkin continued with the hissing and growling but still did not leave. Theodore turned his head away and then laid down with his back to Pumpkin :) So Theodore, in my opinion, is letting Pumpkin know that Pumpkin is in charge. Since then we have only kept Theodore in our bedroom during the night and canned feeding times. The main reason for that is because Pumpkin is a grazer with regards to his food so we need to leave it out where he can get it over night without Theodore trying to eat it. Currently when we feed them it's separately. They get dry food first and then about an hour later we give them some canned food - we do this 2x a day. Theodore grazes with his dry food but inhales the canned food. Pumpkin is still hissing and growling but not quite as much so hopefully with time that will stop. When they are out together, they continue to keep their space and not bother each other. I just thank God there hasn't been any physical fighting! I'm sending a couple of pictures... one is of the two of them with no hissing or growling ;-) and the other is what happened this morning! We take Theodore to the vet this coming Thursday. |
