Charlie Charming - Lovable lap cat!
Charlie Charming - Lovable lap cat!

9/10/15 - Hi Annette, Just wanted to let you know that Charlie seems to be adjusting well. Still runs and hides a lot but everything is still new to him. Started playing with his toys and loves sitting at the bay window looking out. The only little problem is I cannot seem to get him to use the scratching posts, but still working on that. He sleeps with me and he is on the chair before I am at night to watch TV. He is such a love bug and a gentle cat. He has let me trim both front and back claws no problem. Has never hissed or tried to bit me. He cries when he doesn't know where I am. I believe he is a mamma's boy. Charlie lets me brush him he seems to love it. He is just the type of cat I was looking for. His personality is very similar to Pappy's, very loving and easy going. I guess he has so many toys he doesn't know which one to play with first. He is still afraid of Harry, but then I am the one he is around most. He is slowly coming around to Harry. He is a great addition to our little family. He just needs a little more time to become more social. He is a great cat. Thank you so much for allowing me to be his fur ever mom. I think Charlie is happy here and he will always have a loving home. I was very hesitant about adopting a pet because of all the things that are going on in my life, but I am glad I made the decision, I know I made the right decision about Charlie and he has brought a lot of love and laughter into my crazy hectic life. Thank you again. You are doing a wonderful thing, taking care of unwanted or abandoned cats. Joyce

Cooper - Meet me at PetValu in Lemoyne
Cooper - Meet me at PetValu in Lemoyne

9/5/14 - Hi Annette. Sorry for the delay in an update. First of all, Cooper has undergone a name change. My brother Tom visited last weekend and noted how much he looks like a lion. He suggested the name Linus whereupon I said how about Lionel. At that very moment we heard the train whistle and took that as a sign. So Cooper has officially become Lionel, which means "Little Lion." He does sleep a lot and tends to "hide" in my bedroom closet or behind the living room couch when he sleeps. But he comes out at night for affection and has taken to perching in Cassie's old dog bed on the living room floor so I am seeing more of him. Ursie is accepting him more now. I actually saw them touch noses last night! The last time she growled at Lionel was last Saturday night and that was only because she was jealous of all the attention Tom was giving him. He is so sweet and friendly to everyone. I take him to my vet tomorrow for his first checkup. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him until I could give him his furever home! Ellen P.S. I'm actually a two-time success story because Ursula (Ursie) came from Castaway in November of 2011.

Charlie - Purebred Maltese

When Charlie was rescued, this poor boy was literally THROWN at us by his owner who relinquished him willfully.  He was flea and tick infested, missing most of his fur, emaciated and just simply neglected.  His most recent picture was just taken with Charlie's new human baby brother.  The family is delighted with both baby boys!  :)

3/18/13 - Chase (formerly Choco-Latte) is great. He slept with me as of the first night .....he has a great personality. I am thrilled with him and I think the feelings are mutual. Thanks for asking. Barbara

Charlie - Fun, friendly Maine Coon mix!
Charlie - Fun, friendly Maine Coon mix!

3/7/12 - Charlie is truly the most laid-back, sweetest cat I’ve ever been owned by. He doesn’t meow, he sort of trills! As you said, he loves his toy, and he gets a “workout” once a day. Eli, our female cat did nothing but hiss at him at first, even chased him into the dining room once, but now just glares at him when he saunters by, and only hisses when he gets within a foot or two. I’ve kept his litter in my room with a food station, so he kind of hung out there all the time, but after about five days, (with coaxing), he followed me downstairs and checked out the whole downstairs while Brittany kept Eli and Nuala in her room. Once he saw that he could wander around, he decided that he could pretty much venture out whenever he wants, although he watches to make sure he has a clear path to my bedroom upstairs. Our dog Nuala just wants to play with him, but Charlie gives him a wide berth for now. I think they are all adjusting rather well, and I expect things to be comfortable for all of them in a couple of weeks. Charlie is the perfect cat, and we love him dearly! Please keep in touch! Donna
