9/21 - Charlie is a new Castaway Critter who has had an absolutely dreadful start in his life.  He was owned by a woman who completely neglected him, to the point where he was so flea-infested when rescued that he was anemic!  You will notice in one of his pictures how he had to be shaved due to the poor care of his skin and coat and he is currently healing from open sores on his skin where the fleas were literally sucking the blood out of him!  He is on medication to improve his blood count and heal his scabbing skin ... but the vet says he will be just fine!  It is a very good thing that the woman who first noticed the abysmal state of Charlie's living conditions stepped in to rescue him and relinquish him to Castaway Critters ... he is currently very weak and lethargic and who knows how much long Charlie would have survived had someone not stepped in!  Charlie is a very sweet boy and is in DIRE need of a special person/family to step up to the plate and give him a forever, loving home!  Could that be YOU?  Please consider making Charlie part of your family!  He will a real blessin and source of joy in your home!
