Hannah - Declawed and Affectionate!
Hannah - Declawed and Affectionate!

7/15/13 - Hi Annette, Nyx (formerly Hannah) has only been with us for an afternoon and we already love her! She is a wonderful little girl. Thank goodness you fostered her and she was not caged. Nyz is a sweetheart and not showing any signs of being fearful. When we come into 'her' room to be with her she puts her head in our hand so we will scratch her ears. I took a nap today in Nyx's room (formerly a guest room) and she curled up on the bed and napped also. Later, Steve napped with her, too. She has been eating and playing with the catnip ball. We put the ceiling fan on and opened the window and she jumps up on the sill and loves being at the tree top level. Thank you to you and to Castaway Critters for all you do. Joni, Steve and Nyx

Briar - PERFECT family dog!
Briar - PERFECT family dog!

It's been almost a year since we adopted Briar.  Already knowing he is an amazing pooch.  He did something yesterday that truly impressed me.  I would say all of us.

We had 40 to 50 people here yesterday.  A lot of whom were strangers to him.  And this dog casually wandered around everyone, not being pushy, aggressive, or anything.  Just being the perfect dog.  He was spectacular.  I hardly noticed he was here.  He just blended in so well.

This was a poster child moment for pre owned dogs, Castaway Critters, and the pit bull mix breed.

It would have been a damn shame if this guy didn't get out of the shelter.  I think we helped him a lot by giving him a home.  But, he gives back to us an equal amount or more every day and he doesn't even realize it.

If you are really good at something, you eventually rise up from the ranks of an amateur and turn pro.  Briar is a Professional Dog.

Hi Theresa….Gabby continues to do well.  She had fun at the beach rolling and digging in the sand, but didn’t like the water so much! She didn’t pee from when we left the house at 3:30 pm, til the next morning! We stayed in a hotel  below Richmond the first night  and she wouldn’t pee for anything!! Wish I could go that long!! She did better once we got to the beach house and settled in. She is now out and about in the house while we are at work and has had no accidents in 2 weeks! Darryl is trying to get her to become a better “walker”, she likes to lead….! She is a good girl and we love her! We are thinking about another Shi-Tzu/Poodle puppy if you ever hear of any. Don’t know if Castaways sees many smaller breed dogs. Let us know if you hear of any. Hope you are doing well, have a good summer.
