6/2/14 - Georgia: According to our adoption papers, we had a birthday party to celebrate yesterday for Kate. Was hard to get her to look at the camera for the picture, but thought I would send it anyway. She is still my buddy and continues to bring love and happiness to our home.

5/5/14 - Hi Annette, I thought since today is the anniversary of adopting Felix & Gabby, I thought I would give you an update. They are the most loving animals ever! They like to play (an awful lot) and they certainly entertain themselves by wrestling/playing with each other (it is actually pretty comical). They are going in at the end of the month for their annual check-up and shots but are otherwise doing great and I think they love it here. Just wanted to let you know how they're doing and that I could not be happier. Thanks again! Sweet Maggie

2/16/2014 - We wanted to send you a video of Maggie playing! She is doing great and we can't imagine our lives without her, I call her my fur baby. She plays so much she lost a little weight. She is around 10 pounds now. Her new favorite place is a box with her pink blanket in it. When we come home from work she greets us at the door meowing. She wakes Greg up every morning at 5:30 because she knows that is when she gets her two treats for the day. He will wake up to her sitting on his chest staring at him and waiting. Haha. Every day she does something funny and amazes us even more. She is very comical. I added some of her latest pictures too.

Angel - Declawed Sweetie

1/20/14 - Nancy, I couldn't ask for a better pet. She's right by my side wherever I am in the house. I've been surprised a few times at her playfulness. She plays with her toy mouse a lot and she was chasing her own tail the other day which was quite comical. She loves to nap on the top of my recliner by the window too. I believe she's enjoying it here. I've attached a photo of Angel lounging in one of her favorite spots. In the middle of the living room floor of course. She has full roam of the house but almost always chooses to follow me to whatever room I'm in. I believe her favorite things are treats and being petted though. So happy to have Angel here. Leo the Lion Declawed - Special Cat

Look at Leo's beautiful new photo! LEO the beautiful cat came to Castaway Critters as a stray in Harrisburg in the worst condition we have ever seen a cat. He was one big matted mess. His orange coat was so drenched in urine, feces and matted hair that he could not sit or lay down. He was also very ill with diabetic symptoms. Once in our control our great volunteers took him to Colonial Park Animal Clinic for an emergency shave down, vaccination, lab work and exam. Over the course of time, Leo blossomed and was the best cat ever. He was adopted to a lovely lady whose updates are below: It has been a month and a half since Leo has been off of insulin all together and his BG is stable at 84 and he's feeling fantastic if I do say so myself. He's still at 16 pounds, loves to eat and even plays a little. He sits with me and sleeps with me and even did well when I visited my parents in Virginia earlier in December. He is still eating the Wellness CORE wet food and occasionally the dry food as well. He's great with the litter box and the crushed walnut shells from Blue Buffalo that I use. Thanks again. Take care!
