Sweet Maggie

2/16/2014 - We wanted to send you a video of Maggie playing! She is doing great and we can't imagine our lives without her, I call her my fur baby. She plays so much she lost a little weight. She is around 10 pounds now. Her new favorite place is a box with her pink blanket in it. When we come home from work she greets us at the door meowing. She wakes Greg up every morning at 5:30 because she knows that is when she gets her two treats for the day. He will wake up to her sitting on his chest staring at him and waiting. Haha. Every day she does something funny and amazes us even more. She is very comical. I added some of her latest pictures too.

Spirit - dumped out of a car & abandoned!

Spirit was seen being thrown from a car in the Annville area and volunteers worked tirelessly to try to catch this poor, scared girl who had NO idea what had happened to her or why.  After a week of valiant efforts, she was caught, vetted and promptly adopted by a loving, caring, doting family.  She loves to sit in her living room window where she enjoys watching the people and other dogs go by!  Spirit has gone from rags to riches, as is the case with many Castaway Critters!  One more very lucky dog!  :)

Smudge

3/4/13 - Smudge and Bo are doing great. Bo thinks it's time to play when I go to bed and runs around the house like a nut. Sometimes they sleep with me, but they're doing awesome. I'm so lucky to have them. Thanks for checking. Krystal

Stella - Amazingly adorable lap cat!
Stella - Amazingly adorable lap cat!

12/21/11 - Nicki (formerly Stella) is doing great, and she is a joy to have around. She settled in very well almost immediately. The litter box is in the basement, and she had no problem finding her way down there to use it. She stays down there if I am away, but when I am home she has the run of the house, although she has been hanging out with me pretty much all the time. She has been very well-behaved; she lies under the Christmas tree but has never disturbed any of the ornaments, which really surprised me! I have tried to get her to sleep in a cat bed, but so far she is having nothing to do with it. She has already found a chair that she prefers (when she is not lying on my lap) and when I put the cat bed on "her" chair, she pulls it off and drags it under the dining room table. I had her at the vet today, and they gave her a clean bill of health. She received her second distemper shot, and she is good to go for another year. Thanks for asking about her. I am sure you miss her a lot, but I promise to take good care of her! I think Castaway Critters is a wonderful organization, and I am very impressed with the work you do. Merry Christmas! Rose

Sierra - Affectionate and playful!
Sierra - Affectionate and playful!

8/3/11 - Hi Annette: We changed Sierra to Zoe--and yes, she's settled in quite nicely. She cracks us up as the alpha cat--and she's very clean b/c she's constantly washing herself! My youngest son has in her in "mouse training," and he thinks she's doing very well except for her element of surprise--he thinks she needs to slow down! :) Also, I have the kids work on school stuff at the table while I"m on my computer, and Zoe loves sitting on the table helping them. On a serious note, we are all pleased at how much she's a people cat. She spends her day hanging out with us and watching the birds from the living room window sill. Her vet visit went well. She had a yeast infection in her ear, but the vet cleaned it out. She'll be going again in October w/ the rest of the zoo for their yearly shots--I get a discount if I bring the whole crew in at one time rather than spreading it out over the year. I think that's about it. Pls. check in at any time! ~Wendy K.
