Linus Hi Georgia! I just wanted to send you this cute pic that perfectly describes how well everyone is getting along these days. He's getting so big! Take care, Jenna
Lily - Sweet, calico lap snuggler 8/3/10 Hi Annette & Nancy, Just a quick note to say Katey and Lily are doing great! I don't have to worry about Lily being lonely. She has a full time job watching, stalking, and trying to get Katey to play. I've even witnessed them washing each other on several occasions. Talk about type A and B personalities! Katey is all housecat, likes to eat and sleep 20 hours a day, with an occasional play time. Lily is still such a kitten at heart who is always busy following her new sis, hunting, stalking, and pouncing. I wish I had that energy. When I read Macy's description this morning I thought that's Lily! Thank you both for everything you did to fill my home with some life and love! Brian
Landon - Great with dogs and cats! 7/14/10 - Hi Annette, Just wanted to send you a quick email. Aggie and Landon are doing really well, especially Landon. Now he knows when meal time is so he comes around but also, lately, he's been hanging around my bedroom a lot more and even sleeps with me part of the night, wanting to cuddle a lot. They are still a little skittish but we are bonding very well. And, thanks again for all your fostering efforts - I wouldn't have two new family members without you! Connie
Loving Yellow Sarah - Just wanted to let you know how Oscar (formerly Loving Yellow) is doing. He is such an awesome cat. He rules the house. Doesn't put up with anything from either dog. Our german shepherd runs out of the room if Oscar so much as meows at him. Our Akita still tries to play with him but he turns on her and doesnt hesitate to put her in line. If our 16 year old cat meows he comes running to make sure she is okay. She usually meows when one of the dogs startle her because she is deaf and cant hear them coming. He will come running from any part of the house and chase both dogs away from her. It is quite comical to watch as he is all of 6 pounds (I think he thinks he's a pit bull) and both dogs are 90 pounds and run and hide behind us. Every night when I'm getting ready for bed, he jumps in the bathtub and raises a fuss until I turn the water on for him. Bev
Lucky Jenny and Lynn, I wanted to update you both on Lucky. We absolutely LOVE him and feel so fortunate to have found him through Castaway! Lucky has made a smooth transition into our home and has connected with every member of our family. He is playful, affectionate, and eager to please. He gets a lot of attention throughout the day which is evident by his need for a morning and afternoon nap. Lucky received a healthy report from our vet. She agrees that he is about 1 year old. She thinks he may be a mix between a Golden Retriever and Lab (with some other small breed in his family tree). :) For peace of mind we opted to get him microchipped. We have established a good routine with the doors so hopefully we will never need to use this. I have attached some pictures of Lucky. As you will see, Lucky decided to become a swimmer. He carefully ventured into the pool, using the steps in the shallow section, to retrieve a toy the kids threw in the water. He was so excited to be in the water. Since then he takes a few dips each day when we are all out at the pool. A special thanks to the Castaway organization for saving Lucky's life and specifically to Jenny for volunteering to foster him. We could not have found a better dog for our family.
