Sammy is a remarkable cat. After just one day of hissing, Sammy transitioned from being a mostly-outdoor, mostly-negleted pet to being a contented indoor cat surrounded by unfamiliar felines. He allowed a perfect stranger (his new foster mom) to give him antibiotics twice a day for two weeks without ever trying to bite or scratch her. And although he's 16 years old, he's very healthy based on a full panel of blood tests. Plus the only dental work he needed was some tartar removal, which was taken care of.

Sammy spends his days following his foster mom around the house, hanging out on a cat tree, or napping in a soft cat bed, although he doesn't sleep more than his younger housemates. He's become quite affectionate. He loves drinking water out of the bathroom sink with the faucet running, which results in a very wet head! He's bcome  a lap cat, and he curls up next to me in bed at night. He's a faithful litter box user and not a fussy eater. 

Sammy was neutered when he was a kitten. He's now current on his vaccines and microchipped, and he's tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV.
