Super sweet, mellow, gentle disposition, you can't help but fall in love when you look in those loving eyes. Irelande is very playful with my dogs, but she enjoys a lot of mellow, quiet time as well. I imagine she'd be good with kids b/c she is so gentle. If she perceives you scolding her she cowers and runs into the corner, which is sad b/c it shows she was probably physically abused at some point. Sweet Irelande was in a foster home in WV and when introduced to the house cat she barely gave him a second look. She has also met two of the house dogs and was submissive with the big guy and friendly with the small girl. Irelande is doing very well on a leash. She never pulls, you could walk her with one finger. She'd be a wonderful companion for a young teen because she'd be their "shadow' and is so gentle and easy to handle. Her one issue is a bit of separation anxiety. The few times I left her alone she chewed up some stuff on the floor. At this point I crate her when I go out. I think she just needs someone with patience to teach her "no!" because she's very eager to please. She gets in her crate with a simple point of my finger! Irelande is in foster care so please complete an application before meeting her. Completing an application does not obligate you to adopt; however, it is required. Applications are processed in the order received in an effort to find the best match possible for both the dog and the adopter. Special Needs: Should be crated when you leave home. She goes in her crate without a fuss. Other Pictures of Irelande (click to see larger version):
