UPDATE 2-3-14: Sam has adapted to house living pretty quickly. He's still learning what dog toys are - he occasionally will pick up things on the floor and bring them to me.... like a glove or a cutting board, haha. He has picked up on housetraining very quickly. He is food motivated and a bit of a begger - will need additional training. Walks decently on a leash, loves to play in the snow. He is his happiest when he's being hugged and loved on! Gets along with EVERYBODY - dogs, cats, small dogs, kids, etc. Moderate to low level energy - hes more of a cuddlebug! Sam is a good dog who was left behind tied outside when his owner moved. Someone felt sorry for him and tried to find him a home, but at 51 pounds he was bigger than the possible adopters wanted. He was still alone, so he was brought to the shelter. Sam is a good boy of only about a year old. He is a good sport, even when asked to try on his Halloween pirate hat. He ignored the lobby cats while having his pictures taken and stepped around the little dogs in the lobby. Sam likes attention and petting and would love to have a family that believes in staying together forever. And when you meet this good dog, you will want to keep him forever! Give him a look!
