Silver is a calm, loving boy who defies a number of cat stereotypes. He was an outside kitty for his entire life of almost 2 years, yet was somehow already socialized when he became an indoor cat and proved to be the perfect litter box user. (It's true he doesn't understand toys or soft cat beds.) He doesn't jump on things, run around at night, or get into mischief. And if curiosity kills cats, Silver will live a very long time because he's content to hang out in his favorite spot on the floor of his foster mom's home office and only occasionally wanders out of the room.
Silver was born outside on or about May 1, 2023, at the feeding station where his mom was a regular. His littermates were taken into foster care once they were weaned, but Silver proved resistant to being trapped until he was 3 months old, when he was neutered and returned to the feeding station where his mom had been returned after she was spayed. However, his caretaker who was also a foster mom for Castaway Critters, became concerned when this winter's forecast called for snow and single digit temperatures. So she brought him inside on a temporary basis only to discover a calm, snuggly cat with the sweetest meow. He didn't meow when he was snuggling, however, because he was too busy purring. After a visit to the vet, he received a clean bill of health following a check up, a negative fecal test, and a negative feline leukemia/FIV test. Silver rarely interacts with the other cats in the household, so he can be an only cat. But he also has no problem living with them, so he could be added to an existing cat household. His transition into his foster home was seamless. He probably wouldn't do well with children because he can be spooked by sudden movements and loud noises. However, he's gentle and has not shown any aggression no matter where he's petted, including his tummy. Silver is neutered and current on his vaccines. He'll be microchipped before adoption.
