Domestic Short Hair (short coat) : : Female (spayed)
Leia is a sweetheart. While she's not much of a lap cat currently, she purrs loudly when picked up & loved on. She is a very independent kitten & is perfectly happy to run around playing with the other cats in the household. She was found with her brother, Isaiah, when she was 3 weeks old. She does have cerebellar hypoplasia (CH) which occurs when the cerebellum, the part of the brain which controls fine motor skills and coordination, is not completely mature at birth. There are varying degrees to which they can be affected. It does not get worse, isn't contagious & doesn't change the cat's life expectancy. Leia is only mildly to moderately affected & has compensated quite a bit. She still frequently falls over but has no problem getting to the litterbox. She should not have access to stairs due to her balance issues & she CANNOT be declawed due to already having a hard enough time walking normally.
