** PLEASE READ HER BIO ALL THE WAY THROUGH** Due to Nina's past living situation, she does seem to have anxiety and doesn't like her crate (can you blame her). She is housetrained and we are working on having her feel like her crate is a safe space. In order to ease her anxiety, she does sleep in her foster's bed. She never got to do this and seems to love it! Nina does have resource guarding issues, which is why we absolutely will not allow her to go to a home with young kids. Teenagers are probably ok. She is fed in her crate and receives her high-value treats (nylabones, frozen kongs, etc.) in her crate as well. This will avoid any incidents. She is learning the phrase "drop-it" and other techniques to help overcome her resource guarding. Because Nina is so energetic she absolutely must have someone that is home often. She likes running around in a yard, but walks are her thing! She loves them! And she loves meeting people and pups along the way!! Nina requires an experienced dog owner with experience and dedication to working with a professional trainer/behavior consultant with ongoing training. Training throughout the day, along with her walks, and some playtime is what tires this girl out! Castaway Critters will cover the cost of training. We need to be sure Nina's new family will continue and dedicate themselves to her training and making her the pup we know she can be so, her foster will continue to follow-up with the family and her trainer. This dog is such a cool dog and so SMART! A new family that provides her with the attention, exercise, and training she wants and needs will turn this nervous pup into the dog of your dreams!!! Her adoption donation includes spaying, vaccinations, implanting of a microchip, application of flea meds, and worming. Nina is in foster care so please complete an application at our website (www.castawaycritters.org) before meeting her. Completing an application does not obligate you to adopt; however, it is required. Applications are processed in the order received in an effort to find the best match possible for both the dog and the adopter.
