Contact Unique - Constant companion!'s Caretaker/Foster Directly: Annette (alr20@comcast.net)
Hi, everyone. I'm Unique. I don't know what that name means, but my foster Mom says it fits me to pefection. She tells me everyday that she thinks I'm adorable, and I know she'll miss me, but she understands that I need to find my own home. I've been waiting for two years and have been using that time to learn how to be a pet.
When I first arrived at my foster home, I was friendly, curious, and outgoing, but I wasn't really interested in my foster Mom's affection. I'd already lived in two other homes, one where I was kind of abused and the other where I was loved but couldn't stay because we were threatened with losing our home by our landlord if I didn't skidaddle. But as I learned what it means to feel loved, protected, and secure, I discovered I enjoyed my foster Mom's funny habits, such as planting a kiss on my head or taking my face in her hands while she told me how much she adored me. She was recently amazed when a new neighbor stopped by, and I went right up to her, stayed around to be petted, and even gave her wet kitty kisses. I love to follow my foster Mom around the house, whether it's to help her clean the litter boxes, do laundry, work at her computer (she does usually shoo me out of the room on that one) or just watch TV. She can even call me to come along someplace, and off we go. I watch for her at the window and greet her at the door when she comes home. There are times I like to be by myself, so I'm not constantly underfoot. Somtimes I hiss at the other cats I live with, but mostly I hang out with them. I also like to play with toys, so I can entertain myself. My foster Mom said that someone special who is looking to adopt a cat just like me is just around the corner. I'm peeking now ... From her foster Mom: Unique is spayed, current on her vaccines and microchipped and has tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV. For more information about this very pretty, young girl, contact Annette (that's me) in Harrisburg at alr20@comcast.net. To begin the adoption process, please complete an online adoption applicaton. NOTE: The woman who cared for Unique in her second home before she came to Castaway Critters sent along a letter and described her almost exactly how she is here. In the letter, she wrote: "She is not a cuddle cat, but she is friendly and won't scratch. She follows you everywhere you go. She is nosy." She also wrote this: "I fell in the bathroom -- lost consciousness -- and as I was lying there I felt Unique breathing real hard on my nose. That is what woke me up. After that, I found out about my lung cancer. But I feel if it wasn't for Unique's breathing, I would have died there. My Siamese cat was laying in bed like nothing happened! I guess she was letting Unique do her thing. She is a life saver!" Other Pictures of Unique - Constant companion! (click to see larger version):
