Onyx

6/17/17 - Onyx is doing great. He got used to his new home very quickly and has found his favorite hiding spots. For as brave as he is we have found he does not like the vacuum cleaner very much. Other than that, everything is good as can be. Thanks.

Otis

1/9/11 Otis now has two beagle brothers and a cousin to play with. He is one very happy dog!

Olivia -
Olivia - "Three-legged sweetie"

Olivia was our first Castaway Critter. My husband and I went to Petsmart one day to pick up supplies and I decided to stop and see the animals they had for adoption. Not in the market for a new family member I was "immune" to any temptation so I could look and walk away after putting a donation in the jar. Out of the corner of my eye I caught sight of the beautiful silver kitten curled up in a ball sleeping soundly. Her fur was amazingly beautiful and the peace that she seemed to feel in the noisy environment really amazed me. After watching her for a few minute her foster Mom approached me and asked if I would like to hold her. I remember saying that she was resting so peacefully that I did not want to disturb her. With that said, the kitten was out of the crate and coming into my arms in a flash. The foster Mom said that she had to explain that Olivia was "different" from the other cats and told me that she only had 3 legs. As this tiny kitten snuggled deep into my neck and fell sound asleep I learned her story. She and litter of kittens had been found by the side of the road in WVA. Olivia had been hit by a car and her back leg was badly damaged. She was taken to a shelter where all of the kittens were adopted quickly but no one wanted Olivia because of her leg. The shelter could not afford the bills to fix her leg so they were going to put her down. Castaway Critters saw her story and went and rescued her. They brought her back to PA, found a Vet that would amputate her leg (into the hip socket) and then she went home to recuperate with her new foster Mom. As it turns out this particular day was Olivia's first trip to Petsmart just to see how she would handle being out in the public. Needless to say, it was her last day. I filled out the paperwork, wrote the check and after calling my references I was able to take Olivia home with me. She is sweet and loving and gentle. She has no problems getting around with just three legs and she can outrun all of the other cats in the house. She wants nothing more out of life than a full belly, warm bed and to be brushed every chance taht she gets. Olivia needed me that day and I needed her. It is safe to say that Olivia is in her forever home. Here, Olivia is pictured with her friend, Tank.

Oscar
Oscar

I wanted to give you an update on Puddin. Well my daughter calls him Oscar. He is such a sweetie!! He sleeps with her at night. Thank you for the kitten; he was a very nice addition to the family. I attached a picture for your web-site; it shows how happy someone could be with an adopted kitten. Thanks again. Kira
