Hancock was just a little puppy when he came to a high-kill WV shelter with his family. They were seized because they desperately needed care they were not receiving. All of the dogs had sarcoptic mange, and Hancock had scratched so hard that he had damaged his eye. First, the staff tried to doctor the eye and save it, but the infection was deep. The vet determined that Hancock's eye needed to be removed. At the same time, the little guy was neutered to save an additional surgery later. When these dogs came to the shelter, they were practically bald. As Hancock's hair has come in, he is a brindle color and white. These little ones have been cheated out of love and interaction because they were contagious. Now they are ready to know what a soft touch and receiving attention can feel like! They deserve a better life than they have experienced so far! His adoption donation includes neutering, vaccinations, implanting of a microchip, application of flea meds and worming. Hancock is in foster care so please complete an application at our website (www.castawaycritters.org) before meeting him. Completing an application does not obligate you to adopt; however, it is required. Applications are processed in the order received in an effort to find the best match possible for both the dog and the adopter.
