1/23 - Edwardo the jumping bean is a sweet boy to whom nobody will give a chance because of preconceived notions of some dogs and their looks. His sad story ALMOST had a tragic ending: he has been in a shelter in West Virginia for months ... a shelter that is very small and without indoor facilities for the poor dogs. As you can see, Eddie is not a thick-haired dog and as the weather got cold this week, the shelter determined that since he was out in the cold in a box with straw, it might be more humane to put this sweet boy down rather than let him freeze in the cold. And this is where Castaways stepped in! It just couldn't be! We could not let this poor, sweet boy be euthanized because his coat was not thick enough to keep him warm and no one was coming to adopt him! This beautiful boy is good with all the other dogs and very loving and playful. He is just a big pup! Eddie was kept indoors as a puppy and then passed on to this shelter in rural W. Va. where his chances were slim to none at being adopted. But the shelter workers saw something special in Eddie. He jumps up and down like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh! He LOVES to play fetch, and hard rubber balls are his favorite! He jumps to try to catch a frisbee, but will run it down when he misses (PLEASE watch his video [link below]). He will gently release it when he brings things back to you. He needs an active life, and loves other dogs his size to play with. Edward is approximately 1 year old and will bring you lots of joy and fun for a long time to come. He is a big playful puppy who loves everyone and everything!! He is vetted, neutered and ready to find that special someone who will see Eddie's wonderful potential and offer him a forever home that he so deserves.
