Lady and her grown daughter were dumped in the woods in W. Va. where they tried so hard to fend for themselves. In addition to being dumped and abandoned, Lady was pregnant and gave birth out there in the woods with no help from anyone. She and the puppies did the best they could, and eventually some nice folks found them and took them food. They wouldn't come to them at first, but eventually they learned to trust and they were very friendly. Lady allowed them to pick up her puppies and she and Adelle went home with them until the shelter had room to take in the whole family. The little babies were chosen, adopted ... her grown daughter was been chosen, adopted ... and yet Lady remained behind. Nobody chose the mother! She is a SUPER friendly dog who loves people and loves attention! She will turn over for belly rubs and really enjoys to ride in the car. Lady is 3-4 years old and 45-50 pounds. Lady isn't particurlary kitty friendly (she obviously had no prior exposure to them), but she makes up for it with everyone and everything else! Lady walks well on a leash and so enjoyed the volunteers at the shelter taking her for a stroll around the yard at the property. This girl deserved to live -- in a home and with a family! Her foster family in W. Va. had children who adored her, and Lady was great with them. When Castaways got the word that her time was up, they could not let her be put down!  So we pulled her and she is now here in Pennsylvania.  She is the absolute SWEETEST dog EVER!  She is a WONDERFUL traveler, loves the car, does not whine, bark or be disruptive in ANY way!  Her absolute FAVORITE thing to do is roll in the grass and kick her feet up in the air while grunting in pleasure!  PLEASE give this good dog a chance!  You won't be sorry!  And PLEASE check out her video!  You will shed tears thinking that this gentle girl was almost put down!  Please consider her for your family!  She is vetted, wormed, treated for fleas and ticks, spayed and ready to find a forever home!!!
