Van is cautious with new people but once he trusts and knows you,he is your friend forever. He can be a chatty cat and loves warm laps and lots of petting (sometimes with a drool). If you sit on the couch to watch TV or read a book, he is there waiting to climb in your lap or wherever he can wedge himself to snuggle up. He would much prefer if you let him come to you rather you going to him. He is okay with other cats and dogs, however not small children. He is used to older children and will snuggle up with them once he trusts that they will not hurt or scare him. Would prefer a more quite household and soft talking humans. He might scoot away at loud noises but comes right back. For example, if he rubs against a door and it bumps the wall he will run away 5 feet and turn around and come right back. He is a grey bobtail, neutered, not declawed. He will use a cat scratcher on a regular basis and not touch the furniture. He likes to bat around and play with small fake fur covered mice with a small rattle inside, small and soft cat nip filled toys or real fur covered/mouse-resembling toys or any other small items he might find around the house such as pens or bottle caps. He doesn’t play too much with wand-type toys or things he needs to chase! He is approximately 9 years old and strictly kept inside. He will lay in an open window to soak up some sun and enjoys observing outside activities through the safety of a window screen! Not a big interest in treats.
