October 14, 2010 - Parfait arrived at her new foster home today and is already acclimated.  She is a 2 year old Chihuahua who was found as a stray. Parfait is most likely a purebred , however, since she was a stray, we can not be 100% sure. She is a very sweet dog and will make someone a great lap dog!  She loves to cuddle with you and does well with other dogs and cats, too! She is a very laid-back dog and is SOOOO low-maintenance!  I think she may have been bred at some point and kept in a kennel.  She obviously has not gotten much exercise, as she is a plump little gal!  We will work on getting her more exercise!  She does extremely well on a leash and likes to walk!  Mostly she is content just to curl up on a big pillow and sleep!  She will need an indoor home only.

Saturday, Oct. 16 - Well, Parfait gets along with everyone in this household.  The more time she spends here the more convinced I am that she was kept in a kennel and used for breeding.  She has a lovely temperment but appears to never have been taught how to be a puppy / dog.  She is starting to engage more, as she learns that it's OK ... no one is going to hurt her.  This morning she followed me into the kitchen, hoping for something to eat!  She walks extremely well on the leash and goes every time I take her out.  More details as we get to know her better!

Sunday, October 17th - Well, Parfait is really coming out of her shell.  She actually jumped up on the sofa today and sought out attention!  I think that is very encouraging!  She is so low-key this little gal.  Nothing, absolutely nothing, gets her roused, upset or angry.  She is one well-natured dog!
