Yuki means snow and happiness. This cat was out wandering most of the winter before she was able to be caught. She actually went right on a neighbors lap when she bent down and immediately began purring. She is certainly glad to be rescued, safe and warm. She had a bit of rehab and was able to be spayed and have her dental at the same time. Her cardiologist appt showed that she has hypertorphic cardiomyopathy. Thickening of the heart walls. Her surgery had to be handled very differently with special anethesia and heart montor. She did very well. She has very few teeth left now. When her rescuer found her, she took herto Rossmoyne to get the worst matts off, then another shave at Pet Bath and Beyond. They did bloodwork and some prelim vet care. She needed another bath and groom and had a URI which a 2nd antibiotic cleaned up. Her eyes need constant attention. More about YukiGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids Special Needs: Rescuer had BW done at Rossmoyne and her kidney values are high. Recheck at Krusen 2/17 to see if they improved. Kidney values improved. However Vet at York SPCA would not spay her due to heart murmur. She was checked at Newberry and they verified. Then went to cardiologist at Rossmoyne. He determined she has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Thickened heart muscle. She will need checked yearly by a cardiologist and probably need meds in the future.
