Eden, a sweet, healthy dog who is very low-maintenance, was a stray that ended up in a high kill pound. She is blind due to cataracts and untreated eye infections earlier. She's probably been blind for a while and doesn't let it stop her! Like many blind dogs, she gets along fine using her nose and ears. She may need a day to get to know her new forever home, but once she gets settled she will happily explore and get to know her new place. She had a recent blood work panel and everything is excellent, and she will have a dental 2/28. Eden likes walks, is great on leash, and then she's quite happy to sit on your lap and cuddle. She's quite content to curl up on a cozy dog bed as well, so if you work from home she's the perfect companion. She is vey quiet, and barks very rarely. Before she came to PA, she was staged in WV by a family with two little girls that she loved to cuddle with. She is good with other dogs and ignores cats. She needs either a single story home, or one where the stairs going down are blocked by a baby gate or other device. She is very food motivated, so easy to work with. She is mostly potty trained, though she has an occasional accident if she doesn't get outdoor breaks regularly. Eden is crate trained, and is fine being kept in a pen or enclosure when needed. She sleeps in a crate overnight and can go 8-9 hours overnight without a potty break. She's a very sweet and devoted little girl who will reward her new family with lots of love and cuddles.
Her adoption donation includes spaying, vaccinations, implanting of a microchip, application of flea meds and worming. Eden is in foster care so please complete an application at our website (www.castawaycritters.org) before meeting her. Completing an application does not obligate you to adopt; however, it is required. Applications are processed in the order received in an effort to find the best match possible for both the dog and the adopter.
