**SPECIAL NEEDS DOG-PELASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION** Faith was brought into a high kill shelter in WV by someone claiming she was dumped in his yard. It was later found that she was his dog. She is the sweetest pup and everyone that meets her just falls in love with her. An MRI found that Faith unfortunately was born with a cyst inside her spine, causing her to be incontinent. She did undergo spinal surgery by a neurologist with the hopes of removing the cyst, or at least draining it, however, it was unsuccessful. There was no way to safely get to the cyst. Faith has fully recovered from her spinal surgery and is doing great. She is incontinent, but this doesn't stop her from running around like the puppy she is. If Faith is inside she will have to wear diapers. She also needs her bladder expressed every couple of hours. She is pretty good at getting all this done. Due to her incontinence she will have chronic UTI's, which means she will always have to be on an anti-biotic. Being on an anti-biotic will help minimize the amount of leakage between expressions. Faith seems to also have a sensitive belly, so is on an Rx Gastrointestinal diet, specifically Royal Canin GI and/or Hills I/D. Other than this Faith is the best! She loves kids, other dogs and playing! Faith is quite a smart girl and picks up on things quickly. She could use some leash and manners training though. Due to her herding nature she would absolutely love being on a farm!! She is a farm dog through and through. At the end of the day though she loves to cuddle with her people. If you have experience with incontinent dogs, the love and patience for a special needs pup and have a farm for her to live out her best life on please fill out an adoption application. Her adoption donation includes spaying, vaccinations, implanting of a microchip, application of flea meds and worming. Faith is in foster care so please complete an application at our website (www.castawaycritters.org) before meeting her. Completing an application does not obligate you to adopt; however, it is required. Applications are processed in the order received in an effort to find the best match possible for both the dog and the adopter. Special Needs: Incontinence, needs diapers, needs manual bladder expression, Rx GI food, antibiotics for UTI's Other Pictures of Faith-Special Needs (click to see larger version):
