Hello there all! I’m Parker, a 55# 15 month boy that is full of pep, vim and vigor. Living my first 14 months crated in an apartment without love, exercise or training, I’m now learning expectations. I’m said to be Lab/terrier/bull dog mix. Only my birth mom knows. All my foster mom/dad know is that I’m full of love, affection wanting only to be as close to my person as possible. Turned over to a high kill shelter, a nice lady saw my GREAT potential, just needing trained. Foster mom can explain to you the circumstances. Even the dog warden was on my side, stating my case! Now North, I’m living in a foster home where everyday is a learning experience. I’m soaking it in. Playing with “7” dogs in my temp home has been a blast! Little chihuahua boy tells me daily where to get off, 25# semi alpha female is awful scary too. Others are more mild. We do run/romp and play chase a lot. I do play hard, but all fun on my side. Occasionally others get made because I am so “Full of myself”, but then I’m still a puppy! Inside mom says “no play zone”. I’ve learned to relax, watch TV, snooze with dad or have a good chew on a Nylabone. My jaw is strong, chewing is great but I have only tried to chew what a dog is to chew. NOT DESTRUCTIVE in anyway. A few times I have been toy possessive to my other "4 leggeds" but NEVER to a person. Things can be taken from my mouth without issues. Mom/dad say maybe a home with no other dogs best, then none inside home, no risk of possessiveness. Outside play there has been NO ISSUES! Love to play! It’s not a hate for the dog, it’s the ownership of the toy that I have never experienced before. Because I’m so “Full of Myself”, “Bump, Bang, Slam” in play, best no small children as well. I am OK with them, shown it at Petco as I gave sloppy kisses…. But was not playing with balls or such that causes me to be bouncy! “Don’t know my own strength!” Because the chihuahua boy likes to walk under legs at mealtime, I’m fed separately. His fault, not mine…. Mom thinks I may be fine with other dogs since I DO WAIT MY TURN AND TAKE TREATS SIDE BY SIDE ALL OTHER DOGS”! Sharing licks of Peanut Butter is GREAT! At night sleep in a kennel in mom/dad’s bedroom, during the working day I’m in a 3x8 kennel alongside my foster clan who are in same. NO CHEWING OF MY BEDDING there either! Daily walks are fun, I’m fairly good on a leash, really only pulling at the start or wanting to say “hey” to passer bye. Mom even took me running saying I run nicer than her running dog!! I’m also HOUSE TRAINED and DEARLY LOVE Care Rides! Still some learning to do, life to experience, but I’m up for it.. are you? I’m Parker, waiting and WILLING TO LEARN..
Parker is in foster care so please complete an application at our website (www.castawaycritters.org) before meeting him. Completing an application does not obligate you to adopt; however, it is required. Applications are processed in the order received in an effort to find the best match possible for both the dog and the adopter. More about ParkerGood with Dogs, Good with Kids Videos of Parker:
