Walker was a stray who was brought into a high kill pound in WV. He was so badly matted that they had him groomed. Not sure how he survived as a stray. His eyesight is very bad...and his hearing isn't much better. He can see shapes, like people. It also seems that he hears high-pitched sounds since he reacts to the barking of a Pom in the foster home. His sense of smell is just fine though. He can be sound asleep and open a can of dog food or start cooking and he's right there. His estimated age is 10 but he acts older. He's a sweet and friendly dog. On walks, he prefers to walk behind you...I think so he can see you. If you like leisurely walks, he's a perfect companion. He does get a little distressed if he doesn't know where you are...that is about the only time he barks. Walker is in foster care so please complete an application at our website (www.castawaycritters.org) before meeting him. Completing an application does not obligate you to adopt; however, it is required. Applications are processed in the order received in an effort to find the best match possible for both the dog and the adopter.
