When I first saw a photo of Ernie -- the one below when he was still an outdoor stray -- I took one look at that face and fell in love with him. Once I met him, he did not disappoint. He's a lovable, confident cat who snuggles in while lap sitting, sometimes plays with toys, loves scratchers, and is the perfect litter box user. He allows me to pick him up and give him hugs and kisses and often follows me around. His transition into our multiple cat household was seamless. He made himself right at home with only occasional hisses at some of the other cats. Ernie was being fed in a stray cat colony in the city of Harrisburg when his caretaker died suddenly. Fortunately, another caretaker in the area learned of the circumstances and took over the colony, which is when she met Ernie. He was so friendly that she asked a rescue to take him in. She kept him until Castaway Critters had room. We got very lucky on this one! Ernie is neutered, current on his vaccines, and microchipped. He's tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV.
