Well Howdy Pardners! I’m Gable but my friends call be Sawyer. My foster mom can explain that one. I’m an easy-going kind of guy, nothing seems to bother me. Just a smile on my face, tail held high/wagging and game for what life has to offer. Adults, kids, babies, dogs, and even cats, yep I get along with them all. It’s kind of embarrassing but before I was pulled from the shelter in WV, I was adopted….you would think that was good! Nope, was not!…. Two days later I was returned. The lady that adopted me… her cat kept attacking me! YIKES! Them feline varmint can be awful scary, scratching, hissing and down right obnoxious. But I’m a gent and never fought back. That darn cat landed me back in the shelter! I did learn that good things do come in time. The next week I landed in PA with Castaway Critter, “life is good”. Temporarily I was kept by a nice couple. Now in my foster home, I’m living with “7” other dogs, got a yard to run in, other K-9’s to play with and all kinds of smells. I am crated at night in mom/dad’s room and kennel inside during the working day alongside my other furry family. That’s “just because” there are so many of us mom figures it’s safer. Normally I do stick close to the house, but “Oh Boy”, say the “W” word….. I get excited and trot down the drive ready to go. Walk, you said WALK?! Yep, I’m in!!!! Still need a little work, but really not bad on a leash! So many things to see/experience. I eat next to my foster family, wait my turn, don’t protect my food and even will give up a piece if asked. I’m your true “Happy Go Lucky Hound Dog” ya see! Dad did report an issue. Being in a new home, I forgot where the water bowl was, sooooooooooooooo, you guessed it! I headed to the toilet. Dad heard me and came looking. Guess they have fostered other “thirsty” dogs so the toilet lid was down. No matter, I’m not only a good-looking boy, but a smart onel. Yes, you guessed it, I know how to lift the lid for “Self Service”!!! Yum, fresh toilet water! Dad was nice and showed me again the “Acceptable” bowl!! Thanks dad! So if you are looking for a dull ordinary boy, keep looking. If you’re looking for a one of a kind, smart as a “Lick” kind of fella, put in an application on “Gable/Sawyer”! My mellow, easy going personality is going to win you over! Gable is in foster care so please complete an application at our website (www.castawaycritters.org) before meeting him. Completing an application does not obligate you to adopt; however, it is required. Applications are processed in the order received in an effort to find the best match possible for both the dog and the adopter.
