Unique - Constant companion!
Unique - Constant companion!

1/21/20-Hi Annette, Nikki (formerly Unique) has made herself right at home. There have been a few hisses between her and Nemo. This afternoon, they touched noses, at which point Nikki hissed. Cooper just looks at her and seems afraid to get too close. All in all, things have gone extremely well and get better by the day. She is the most energetic cat I have ever had. I'm not sure when she sleeps, but hopefully at night on the top perch of the cat tree. She is playful and enjoys the squirrels and the birds. Thanks so much for delivering her to us on Sunday. She is a delight! Betty

Lainey

9/30/19 -Around June 2019, we decided to look in to adopting a dog. We had started fostering kittens for Castaway Critters and thought a dog would help with their socialization. We looked at the available dogs on the Castaway Critters website and zeroed in on LAINIE. About a week later, on a Saturday afternoon, we walked into the Colonial Park Petco to buy some cat items and saw that Castaway Critters was there showcasing dogs and cats. We asked one of the dog coordinators if LAINIE was going to be coming and found out that she was on her way! When LAINIE arrived with her foster mother Denise, she came up to me and we quickly settled down on the floor. She sat on my lap and put her head on my shoulder. We were hooked! We went through the adoption process and got the okay to pick up LAINIE on July 11, 2019! Since that time, LAINIE has blossomed. She enjoys a large fenced in yard surrounded by woods, walks around the neighborhood and through the woods with her pack (us), and looking at the foster kitties on the screened-in “catio”. She even has a best bud, Colby Jack, her orange-striped cat. (Our other five cats intimidate her, so she leaves them alone.) LAINIE loves car rides and goes cruising with us to Carlisle Barracks, Fort Indiantown Gap, Mechanicsburg and anywhere else we decide to go. She is still a little rough (ruff?) around the edges, but we are hopeful that the training classes at Petco will help to settle her down and ease her transition into adulthood.

Macy-Declawed and delightful!

1/7/18 - Felt little pitty pats walking up my bed this morning-opened my eyes and she was sitting on the other pillow looking at me-lol Pretty sure I she did spend some time in bed during the night too. After I got dressed and walked out into the living room and saw she was enjoying the view out the front windows sitting on the WIDE window sill! She's begun telling me when she wants to eat-sits at her water dish and chirps. Last night she got on the sofa and I had one leg stretched out (sciatica!) and the other on the floor-she promptly put her head on my leg and rolled on her back and stretched as long as she could-stayed there about an hour!! She's just the sweetest thing!!!! Ran to BJ's just got home, I had put the new velvety thrown on the twin bed in my computer room/or the computer in the spare bedroom! And she just thinks it's wonderful-she was all curled up when I walked in and after a few head rubs, she sound asleep again. You must be getting sick of me-but I'm just so happy Macy and I found each other-oh and she gives little kisses too Rolling on the floor laughing. Kathy

Champ - Long-haired dreamboat

3/16/19 - Norman (formerly Champ) is doing very well! Still hesitant around the dog, but we think that as he spends more time around her he'll become more comfortable. He has a bedroom that the dog can't access as he adjusts. We are so glad to have Norman. He's very much a sweetheart! Nancy

Cecily - Best cuddly lap cat!
Cecily - Best cuddly lap cat!

2/26/19 - Cecily is amazing. She’s following me around the house, chirping for food and attention and took a nap with me and the dogs today. She likes the bathroom toilet, sink and tub. She came to the kitchen looking for dinner. Yes, this is her new home. Bonnie
