Joni - Young, playful lap snuggler!

10/26/16 - Hello! I thought it would be nice for you to hear that since our last update Joni aka Gypsy has really settled in. She has come out of hiding and seeks out the attention from my children. She is busy playing and searching for the warm sunny spots now with Fall upon us. My two oldest children are eager to play with her and just give her attention. I must say I am surprised at Gypsy's gentleness with my youngest. Joni is gentle and will lay down for my youngest daughter to pat her. I also find it comical that my youngest daughter finds Gypsy funny and will laugh at the sight of her. I was honestly worried she would stay hidden but so happy that she has adapted wonderfully to our home. She is a keeper!! Thank you for the opportunity to take her into our home. Take Care, Emily

Jackson - LOVES to lap sit!
Jackson - LOVES to lap sit!

12/12/13 - Hi, Annette. Just wanted to let you know that Jackson is doing great in his new home with my Mom, Leona. After we left the pet store, we went right to Mom's apartment and spent some time with them to make sure all would go well. Jackson was so affectionate with us all. He was rolling around on his back and playing with me on the floor. And although my husband is kind of scary to some cats until they get to know him (I think it is because of his style of work boots or because he has kind of a loud voice, Jackson interacted with him on the sofa, too. He is responding so well with Mom, and she says she loves him to pieces already. She says she is so impressed as to how smart and well behaved he is. We are so happy that she is so happy! Thanks to all at Cast Away Critters for the work that they do. We will take some photos this weekend when we visit with Mom and Jackson. Thanks again! Chris

Jackie Pickle - I'm AMAZING!
Jackie Pickle - I'm AMAZING!

Pickles is doing really well. He was at daycare over Thanksgiving, and he's still pretty tired from all that playing, and so he's been lounging all morning!

Here are some recent pictures of him!

Jinx

We adopted Owen (formerly known as “Jinx”) in the summer of 2007 when he was almost three-months-old. He came to Castaway Critters from a high-kill shelter. He quickly made himself at home and is a wonderful part of our family. Owen is part Siamese/Snowshoe, as can be seen in his coloring and his pale blue eyes that are slightly crossed. He also enjoys water play, which is not always fun because he likes to scoop the water out of his dish onto the kitchen floor. He did jump in the hot tub recently as I was getting ready to clean it, so he may stay away from water for awhile!! He is very affectionate and loves to be petted and brushed. Owen gets along great with our 7-month-old Russian Blue mix, Charlie, and enjoys “tormenting” our Chihuahua, Molly. He likes to gnaw on her ear and lie in wait for her to come inside so that he can bat at her wagging tail as she goes by. He is a mix of affection, mischief, and attitude, and we love him. Our 14-year-old tabby, Abby, prefers to perch on the back of the sofa and watch all of the action – from a distance. I am grateful to organizations such as Castaway Critters that rescue animals and make them available to people who will love and cherish them. Thank you for Owen.
