Hounds of Halloween - DD (pure bred Coonhound)
Hounds of Halloween - DD (pure bred Coonhound)

Good Afternoon! I am writing because I was looking through the website (I would LOVE to adopt another dog from Castaway -- I sincerely recommend you to anyone I know looking to adopt), and I noticed that my pup was not included on the list of success stories! His name is now JARVIS, though when we adopted him, he was named DD. He was the purebred treeing walker coonhound that was in foster care for, I believe, nearly 9 months. We adopted him in October of 2013, and I would love for you to have yet another adoption on the success list. [...] I could not have imagined working with a better adoption group and words cannot describe how much I love my hound! Cheers, Cate

Hannah - Declawed and Affectionate!

7/15/13 - Hi Annette, Nyx (formerly Hannah) has only been with us for an afternoon and we already love her! She is a wonderful little girl. Thank goodness you fostered her and she was not caged. Nyz is a sweetheart and not showing any signs of being fearful. When we come into 'her' room to be with her she puts her head in our hand so we will scratch her ears. I took a nap today in Nyx's room (formerly a guest room) and she curled up on the bed and napped also. Later, Steve napped with her, too. She has been eating and playing with the catnip ball. We put the ceiling fan on and opened the window and she jumps up on the sill and loves being at the tree top level. Thank you to you and to Castaway Critters for all you do. Joni, Steve and Nyx

Hans

Hi Georgia, All is going very well here with Hans and Daisy. The girls are thrilled. The cats have adjusted well and seem to be very comfortable with us and the environment. Thanks for taking care of them for a while. Lauren

HENRY - LAP SITTER -MR. AFFECTIONATE

Henry arrived home safely. Henry meowed a bit on the ride, but by the time we got home he had settled down. The dogs were very excited to have a new furry friend. Daisy the golden retriever was wagging her tail & could not wait to be friends. Lola was happy as well. Henry climbed out of the carrier & explored a bit & now Alex has him in her room so he can relax & adjust without the dogs wanting to play. I think they will all be great friends.

6/18/10 - Just wanted to take a minute and thank you again for fostering Heidi and all the critters that I do not know about. You do wonderful work for people like me. Once we got her home and down stairs to the 'grandkids room/exercise room' and into her personal space with liltter and food, she was instantly at home. Nothing seemed to alarm her, the noises of the cooling system, creaking steps, toy noises, NOTHING was an issue. She sleeps where she likes and does like to be held. Her 'head butts' are becoming quite well known to everyone who picks her up and her purring is louder than most. But I think her calm demeanor is my favorite quality. She can be very verbal when she wants something-mostly she wants you to stop what you are doing and pet her. That we can live with. We are very happy having her in our home. Thank you again. Hilda
