Emerald - Young, playful lap cat

8/15/17 - Here is your Emerald update! I'm settled into the new place & considering adding a little or big brother for her....she's such a neat eater!! Great cat! Brendan

Emmy - Very sweet!
Emmy - Very sweet!

12/5/16 - Emmy initially went into the family room and hid under a stand and got herself wedged. but once she was "unwedged" ... she started freely roaming ... has used the litter which we decided to put on the first floor, eating food, drinking water. Jumping up on the sofa with me ... sitting with Papa Harold on the chair and exploring everything on the first floor. I came up to email you and heard this plaintive cry so I called her and she came upstairs and appeared at my office door. I work almost exclusively out of house so now she's exploring the second floor. I showed her the bed we have for her ... so tonight or time (sometime) will tell if she uses it. She is doing a lot of meowing but it's almost like she is trying to figure out what's what. She is very affectionate like you said ... she is a keeper for sure. Again thank you very much. Jodi and Harold P.S. 12/6 - Emmy slept in our bed, on the night stand and wherever on and off throughout the night. We came down to find she had ate all the food and the water bowl was empty too.

Eddie - too sweet for words!

Eddie was rescued from a shelter in W. Virginia where he spent almost 6 months becoming a shelter favorite with his great personality and charming nature!  But when the weather turned bitterly cold, it was determined that it would be more kind to euthanize this Pit Bull than to allow him to live outdoors (no inside facilities:) and risk freezing to death with the very thin fur that is typical of this breed.  It is at this point that Castaways stepped in and here is Eddie's most recent picture, loving his new canine brother, Kane.  He now has a fenced in yard in which to run and play and is a loving, cherished part of his new family.

Esther Willow

Hi, Annette. I adopted Esther Willow approximately one year ago and wanted to give you an update. She has the best personality! She absolutely loves my chihuahua, Spud and they both lay down together in the sun. (See attached photo.) The two of them take turns chasing each other down the hall. Willow wakes me in the morning with her little "chuffs - not quite a meow, but a cute little noise she makes when she is "talking" to me. If she is not looking out the window, she is playing with her furry mice. She is a great companion and follows me everywhere. Thank you for an awesome little kitty! I absolutely love her! Debbie

EVE - Loves People!
EVE - Loves People!

Just wanted to give you an update. Eve adjusted to her new home almost immediately. While Miss Emmy and Miss Eve are not the best of friends yet they have both found a spot on the bed at night to sleep with Mom and there is no hissing and growling. Not bad for less than a week. Eve is a very affectionate and laid back cat and a perfect fit. She has an appointment Monday with the vet however, I doubt there will be any problems. She appears very healthy. Thanks again for helping to bring Miss Eve to my home. Diane
